For many families, Easter egg hunts are one of the highlights of Easter. Most of us who grew up in the Northwest have fond memories of running around in the wet grass in our boots to find the plastic eggs with the candies. It seems like rain often threatens Easter, but it doesn’t dampen kids’ enthusiasm for racing after those eggs. All of these events are scheduled to occur rain or shine since event organizers know how the weather often behaves. Please bring your own Easter basket for each egg hunt.

The holiday is early this year, falling in March, and all of the scheduled hunts take place on March 30, the Saturday before. Remember that this is the second weekend of spring vacation for most Oregon school districts, so Easter will be the last day of the vacation. So, follow the Easter Bunny to fun Easter egg hunts around Salem.

Kids Easter Egg Hunt

March 30, 1 to 1:30 p.m. for kids, 3 to 4 p.m. for adults

Located just outside Silverton, Paradis Vineyards is set to host its second annual Easter Egg Hunt this year. The beautiful setting for the Vineyard, in a primarily wooded area in the hills approaching Silver Falls, is reason enough to attend. With two different events – one for children and one for adults, this event will appeal to the adults missing out on the glory days of hunting eggs. Unlike the other events, this one comes with a small fee, and you need to sign up to attend.

Easter is a holiday to celebrate spring and rebirth, with the cherry blossoms around town starting to appear. With the Easter egg hunts scheduled for Saturday, families can plan Easter the way they choose – from Easter services to dinners with family. Keep in mind that there will likely be more Easter egg hunts advertised as we get closer to the holiday if there are hunts that you traditionally do with your family and don’t see here. No matter what you decide, may your Easter include candy from little plastic eggs and maybe a photo with the Easter Bunny!
