Comcast has turned on 20 outdoor Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots in Woodburn, Oregon, as a part of the company’s recent $15 million expansion in the area. There are now 4,796 of these wireless access points in Marion County, which allow Xfinity customers to connect devices to the internet and receive service speeds suitable for web browsing, video streaming, sending emails, video chatting, and more.

Why is Xfinity Public Wi-Fi important?

For no additional charge, Xfinity Internet customers are now able to access nearly 50,000 Public Xfinity Wi-Fi Hotspots in Oregon and more than 22 million nationwide.

“Xfinity has millions of Wi-Fi hotspots throughout our service area to make sure you’re always connected,” said Roy Novosel, Vice President of Engineering for Comcast in the Pacific Northwest. “These hotspots give you fast, convenient Wi-Fi and are free to Xfinity Mobile customers and eligible Xfinity Internet and Comcast Business Internet customers.”

To help residents and emergency personnel stay connected in disasters, Comcast also routinely makes its network of public Xfinity Wi-Fi hotspots available for anyone to use, including non-Xfinity customers, for free.
